The GARD Playbook Workshop will engage in energetic and fun activities while diving into curriculum designed to educate young minds on how to respond to racism within their peer groups.
GARD Playbook facilitators will use theater arts, sports and creative activities to educate young participants in a fun and meaningful way. The Playbook Initiative seeks to leverage the power of sport to engage participants of all ages from vastly different, yet close geographical communities in the dialogue and practive of becoming anti-racist. In short, if it is possible to prepare for "game situations", in athletic competition by studying and "practicing plays", then the same holds true for social situations as it relates to bias and discrimination. By exploring, learning, practicing and applying our Anti-Racism Playbook, students will gain applicable skills to combat racism in their social circles.
